Philadelphia, Pennsylvania … With ISTE's newly redesigned Seal of Alignment (SOA) program, unveiled at this week’s ISTELive23, administrators can head into this back-to-school season ready to identify high-impact educational technology products for their students and teachers. One of the first recipients of the new Seal is Quizizz, a K-12 learning platform specializing in engaging, data-driven assessment, instruction, and practice that motivate every learner to grow.

ISTELive23 kicked off Sunday with the Solutions Summit, where Seal updates were officially announced, and Quizizz was recognized as a key partner. The platform is used in 86 percent of U.S. schools, and by 50 million educators in over 150 countries worldwide.

Ankit Gupta

“This distinction shows just how dedicated our team is to fulfilling the Quizizz mission to motivate every learner,” said Ankit Gupta, CEO and co-founder of Quizizz. “We’re grateful for all of the hardworking educators using our platform to drive meaningful growth for their students. Going forward, the new Seal can be a vital resource to help administrators select only the most education-ready products and solutions for their schools.”

ISTE's Findings Report summarizes a thorough, Seal-aligned review of Quizizz by a panel of experts in education, instruction, and technology, who concluded that the platform

  • Promotes critical technology skills.
  • Supports the use of technology in appropriate ways.
  • Incorporates digital pedagogy and the learning sciences.
  • Addresses key elements of tech usability, user experience and user interface.
  • Aligns to ISTE Standards in specific ways.

These results highlight some of the platform’s greatest pedagogical strengths, which are often influenced by input the Quizizz team actively seeks from its users.

Deepak Joy Cheenath

“We have a very teacher-focused approach to designing Quizizz,” said the company’s other co-founder, Deepak Cheenath. “By genuinely listening to our educator audience, we’ve made crucial updates to level up learning, including 11+ question types, personalized learning paths, time-saving AI, alignment with standards and state tests, accessibility tools, and more.”

These enhancements are just some of the many reasons Quizizz is considered a rising leader in the EdTech industry. However, as teachers’ jobs become more challenging and students’ needs continue to expand, the effective use of quality educational technology—as validated by the redesigned ISTE Seal—may be the game-changer 21st century classrooms truly need.

Ankit Gupta and Deepak Cheenath founded Quizizz in 2015, while teaching remedial math at a school in Bangalore, India. Today, Quizizz supports millions of students in over 150 countries from offices in Santa Monica, California and Bangalore, India.
