Objectives

Music player and a selection of energetic songs.

Description:

Setup

Clear a spacious area where students can move freely without bumping into each other or any obstacles.

Instructions

Play music and instruct students to dance in their own space freely. When the music stops, they must freeze in whatever position they are in. Anyone who moves during the freeze is out for the round, but they can help judge the next round.

Variation

To make it more engaging, call out different dance styles or movements when starting the music (e.g., ‘Dance like a robot’, ‘Hop on one foot’, etc.). 

Focus

This activity is designed to improve physical coordination, rhythmic movement, and reaction time. It also introduces an element of fun and unpredictability with the changing dance styles and the challenge of freezing in place.
