Objectives

Materials Needed
List of debate topics (e.g., "Should schools have uniforms?", "Is technology more helpful or harmful?"), timer, scorecards

30 minutes

Instructions:

Preparation (10 minutes)

Pass the ball Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a position on a given topic. Allow them a few minutes to discuss and prepare their arguments. to students. The student who receives the ball must add a sentence to the story. Encourage creativity and ensure the addition logically follows the previous sentence. Continue until everyone has contributed at least once.

Debate (15 minutes)

Each group presents their arguments, with one group speaking in favor and the other against the topic. Limit each speaker to 2 minutes to ensure everyone participates. Use a timer to keep track of speaking times.

Feedback and discussion (5 minutes)

After each group has presented, open the floor for a brief Q&A session. Encourage students to ask questions and express their opinions. Conclude the activity by summarizing the key points made during the debate and highlighting effective language use or persuasive strategies observed.
