There are high concentrations of people in areas such as Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as the major cities of Australia were settled in colonial times; most Australians have historically lived in these places since Europeans arrived in Australia. People also have more access to services (medical, sporting, education) which pull them into these areas

Lots of people gravitate to the coastline as the largest population centers are in areas where rainfall is highest (more than 800 millimeters of rainfall per year) which is commonly observed on the coast. More people are also found along the coastline/outskirts of Australia because large parts of Australia are desert(generally found in the inner of Australia); this does not allow for large populations to live in these places

Clumping is observed along the coastline, specifically east/north-east. High concentration of people near/around major cities.
