The California condor is the largest bird in North America.

It is bigger than the bald eagle. It has a huge wingspan

of nine feet and long main feathers. It has a large body,

a short, broad tail, and a small head. This bird can reach more

than four feet in length and weigh between 15 and 21 pounds.

Adults are completely black with white spots under their wings.

Their head is bare of a yellowish-orange color. They often

take a bath and then stay in the sun to dry their feathers.
