“We didn’t find them,” I said. “We found him.”
He sighed; I continued: “If we leave him, he could get hit by a car. He could starve. Striped hyena live out here. We’re here to help these people, right, sir?”
Again, Lieutenant Ramirez was a good man. Minutes later, we were bumping along in the Humvee, Ibrahim seated on my lap.
