For Art class you need to bring to class each day the following materials:
glue, scissors, paint, work for another class
A mask on correctly, sharpened pencils, eraser, binder, ruler, planner, Chromebook
The Art teacher's name is...
Why do you need to have your Planner for Art class?
Planners: Students will need to sign out in their planner to go to the bathroom and or get a drink of water. They will also need it to write any homework assignments for Art in it.
You don't need a planner for this class.
Why do you need to bring your binder?
What is a binder?
To store handouts and any homework for this class.
I don't need a binder for this class
Why is it necessary for me to stay in my assigned seat in Art class?
To practice social distancing in line with the CDC.
So Ms. Seifert can make sure to meet with each student during the class to check for understanding and their progress in their Art.
To encourage Respect, Responsibility, and Safety during class.
So Ms. Seifert can keep track of materials and see who is not using them correctly= referral if needed.
To take attendance accurately.
What does it mean if Ms. Seifert says Level 1 or Level 2 or she rings the bell.
Level 1= Silence! Stop talking, sit down and listen carefully. Same with if you hear her ring the bell.
Level 2= Quiet Whispers/voices- conversations with students at your table.
Students know what is expected of them in keeping the noise level down to promote learning, focus and being responsible, respectful and safe.
Why is no food allowed in the Art room?
Some students and the teacher have food allergies.
We do not want to get food on our Artwork it would ruin it.
We do not want bugs or mice in the Art room- these things would not only eat left over food, but destroy artwork and many supplies like paper.
It is a school rule that the only food students are to have is in the Cafeteria.
What are the 3 expected behaviors for District 50, each school in the district and in Art?
Redirect, Read, Sleep
Respect, Running, Singing
Respect, Responsibility, Safety
What day does Ms. Seifert have students for detention and what do they do during that time?
Monday and we watch Bob Ross videos!
Wednesday and we get to paint!
Fridays and we get to clean the Art room and supplies!
If I don't finish an art project or assignment...
I get an A!
I need to meet with Miss Seifert and ask if I can take it home to finish or stay after school one day to finish ASAP.
If I chose to not finish the assignment, I loose points on it.
If I have been wasting class time and not following expectations, I might not be given extra time to finish the assignment and will be graded on what I have done.
To use the sink...
I am not using it when Ms. Seifert is talking.
I have already cleaned up my work area and put artwork away. I will make sure the sink never gets clogged.
I am not getting water on the floor and if I do I will use the mop or towels to dry off the floor and put up the caution wet floor sign to keep myself and everyone safe.
I will not lift the hose above the sink, I will clean my supplies with soap and water and put them on the drying table.
My grade for this class is based on...
We get a grade for this class?!
Classroom behavior in following expectations for this class including Respect, Responsibility, Safety, artwork, assignments, artist statements and tests/quizzes.
What is your class bin used for? Where is it located? How do you find your class bin?

It is on the white shelving unit. Each bin is labeled Art___ and the period.
*It is each student's responsibility during art class, to demonstrate they can handle being in the art room and using materials correctly.
This allows students to continue using materials and being able to do the assigned projects.
Otherwise, students will be given an alternative assignment that will involve research and typing a research paper.
What do I need to have on all my assignments and on the back of my artwork?
Nothing, my teacher can guess who's artwork it is.
My First and Last Name
My first and last name, Art ___

My teacher, Ms. Seifert, truly cares about my success and growth in Art and as a person.
