Generally cube-shaped
Contain mostly spongy bone with an outer layer of compact bone
Examples: Carpals (wrist bones) Tarsals (ankle bones), Patella
Odd shaped
Do not fit into other bone classification categories
Examples: Vertebrae Hip bones
